“What is CAE: thinking about the benefits, challenges and implications of achieving a C1 language level”
The English as a Foreign Language Programme (PILE) in collaboration with the Institute of Literature and Language Sciences (ILCL), offered a talk given by our Regional Team Leader, Mr. Alejandro Naveas on Tuesday, September 24th 2024.
The above was possible thanks to our valuable status as an official Cambridge Examincation Centre.
Alejandro Naveas was trained as an EFL teacher at Universidad de Chile and later joined the Chilean British Institute in Santiago where he became the Director of Studies, among other challenging professional roles. Mr Naveas holds a Master degree in Applied Linguistics in English Language Teaching from the University of Lancaster, UK. His professional interests have been in the field of classroom methodology for language teachers, applied linguistics, educational leadership and curriculum design and implementation. His professional career has been mainly executed as a language teacher trainer at various universities for about 40 years. Currently, Mr Naveas is a freelance academic consultant and the Cambridge ESOL Regional Team Leader for Chile and Peru and Team Leader for Bolivia.
